To enrich your life as much as possible, it’s important to recognize the availability of disability support services in your local community. Under the NDIS, Australians with permanent or significant disabilities are eligible for publicly funded disability care. That means you can access a range of disability supports, from accessible group housing to engaging day programs! So remember that we are here for you.

The Local Area Coordinator (LAC) should be your first point of contact on your path to disability support. It is your LAC’s responsibility to promote the inclusion and support of people with disability in the surrounding community. They will help you to understand and undertake the NDIS so that you can start off your plan on the right foot.

Meet with your LAC to work out which support services your NDIS plan should cover. While your LAC cannot approve this plan, they will help you to prepare and monitor it. You’ll receive helpful NDIS advice as they connect you with community resources and share valuable knowledge, such as how to use the myplace portal.

This document outlines the disability supports required to meet your needs and goals, along with any funding the NDIS may provide. Each NDIS participant has a personalised plan to reflect their unique circumstances.

Your first plan begins a lifelong journey with the NDIS, and is adjusted in line with your progress.

To be eligible for the NDIS, you must:

  • Live in Australia, with Australian citizenship or a Permanent or Special Category visa
  • Be between the ages of 7 and 65
  • Have a permanent and significant disability that hinders your daily living
  • Need support now to improve future functioning

Our shared housing is created with care. We provide single-level group homes that are fitted with a range of resources and supports, as well as private bedrooms and bathrooms!
